Mark Leeson, M.D. - June Physician VIP 
The Physician VIP for June is Mark Leeson, M.D., who practices orthopaedic oncology at Shelby Hospital.
He was nominated by Mary Kimmel, RN, who wrote, “I had pain in my knee which was revealed as a mass following an MRI.  Dr. Leeson was so very kind and compassionate, very calm and never hurried. I felt very peaceful and encouraged as Dr. Leeson thoroughly explained all results and options before and after surgery. My care from all involved was excellent.”
Dr. Leeson was singled out for this honor for demonstrating the health system’s four brand pillars: Quality, Innovation, Customer Service and Teamwork, as well as the ICARE values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.

James Todd II -  June Employee VIP 
The Employee VIP for June is James Todd II of Environmental Services.  His nomination form says he a perfect example of what customer service means.
“He will do anything for anyone and he always has a smile on his face.  He goes over and beyond for anyone and truly shows he cares.  He is a good worker and an asset to our hospital,”  wrote the two women from Human Resources who signed his nomination form.
James said he couldn’t do his job without the help of his work partner, Terissia Leech.  They spend most of their  time in the Emergency Department.
